Casa 3 to 6 years

At Uxbridge Montessori, our Casa Montessori Programming is designed to build upon the philosophies of our Pre-Casa Program, providing children with a strong foundation in academic and life skills in a caring and supportive “classroom family” atmosphere. Following the “Montessori Method” formulated by Dr. Maria Montessori, we recognize that education during the formative years is crucial to a child’s development and future success.

Our Casa Montessori Programming is designed to create a “prepared environment” that fosters children’s spontaneous desire for knowledge. We provide child-sized furniture, manipulative and handheld objects, and richly textured and aesthetically pleasing classroom items that encourage children to touch, taste, smell, listen, and observe their surroundings. Our highly trained Casa teachers engage all of the child’s senses to guide their interactions for constant learning and development through ongoing exploration.

Through interacting with their environment and each other, children learn about their world and develop self-confidence, self-discipline, appreciation, and respect. Our Pre-Casa program provides children with the foundation necessary for smooth integration into the Casa program. By following the Montessori philosophy, we help children develop independence, movement skills, and language abilities during a critical developmental time for these capacities. At Uxbridge Montessori, we’re committed to providing our students with the best possible foundation for lifelong learning and success.

Creative Art

We believe that the arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, and that’s why we provide our Casa Program students with ample opportunities to explore and create masterpieces using a variety of mediums. From finger-paints and play dough to cutting and pasting, our students engage in purposeful art activities on a daily basis.

Our students are introduced to new art activities each week, using a variety of materials and techniques that encourage their imaginations and creative tendencies. By providing an environment that’s rich in the arts, we help our students develop their creative and artistic skills while having fun and expressing themselves.

At Uxbridge Montessori, we’re committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that fosters their intellectual, physical, and artistic development. By incorporating art activities into our Casa Program, we’re able to help our students develop their creativity, imagination, and self-expression skills, which will serve them well in all areas of their lives.

Music

At Uxbridge Montessori, we believe that exposure to music is essential to the development of young children. That’s why we incorporate daily music circles into our curriculum, providing each child with the opportunity to sing and move to the beat.

We also introduce our students to Orff instruments, which they can use to create their own music both individually and as a group. By providing our students with opportunities to engage with music on a daily basis, we help them develop their creative, cognitive, and physical skills in a fun and engaging way.

We are committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that fosters their intellectual, physical, and artistic development. By incorporating music activities into our curriculum, we’re able to help our students develop their musical skills, which can have a positive impact on their overall academic and personal growth.

Physical Education

At UMS, we understand the importance of developing coordination, balance, and strength in young children, which is why we prioritize these skills in our Toddler and Casa Programs. Our playroom is designed to invite children to explore and delight while developing control of their bodies.

We believe that young children need to connect with nature to promote their physical and emotional development. That’s why we offer weekly walking journeys, which allow our students to appreciate and care for the natural world. Our students also interact with each other through organized games or free play activities on the outdoor playground equipment, which helps them develop important social skills such as teamwork and fair play.

We are proud to provide our students with a well-rounded education that fosters their intellectual, physical, and emotional development. By prioritizing coordination, balance, and strength in our programs, we help our students develop the physical skills they need to thrive in all areas of their lives. Our focus on nature exploration and social play helps our students develop their emotional and social skills, which will serve them well in their personal and professional lives.

French

We believe that learning a second language is an essential part of a well-rounded education. That’s why we introduce our French Program in the Casa Program, providing our students with a strong foundation in French vocabulary and language skills.

We understand that the earlier children start learning a second language, the more likely they are to develop fluency and confidence in that language. French is one of Canada’s official languages and is spoken widely around the world, making it an important language for our students to learn.

By incorporating our French Program into our curriculum, we help our students develop their language skills and cultural knowledge, which will serve them well in all areas of their lives. Our focus on French language and culture also helps our students become more culturally aware and better able to communicate and connect with people from different backgrounds.

UMS is committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that includes a focus on second language acquisition. By introducing our French Program in the Casa Program, we’re able to help our students develop their language skills, cultural knowledge, and global awareness, setting them up for success in all areas of their lives.

STEAM & Techology

UMS is a STEAM-focused private independent Montessori school that’s committed to providing our students with the latest technology and educational tools. Our Makerspace is equipped with the latest in STEAM Education, as well as, robotics, iPads, and Chromebooks, providing our students with ample opportunities to engage with technology and explore new ideas.

We believe that introducing children to computers at an early age is essential to their success in the modern world. That’s why we teach our students basic computer operating skills, which they can build on as they work on various educational software programs.

Our older Casa students are introduced to keyboarding skills by painting and illustrating short stories, which helps them develop their artistic and creative abilities while also building their technological skills. By incorporating technology into our curriculum, we’re able to help our students develop the critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills they need to succeed in a fast-paced, technology-driven world.

At Uxbridge Montessori, we’re committed to providing our students with the latest educational tools and technologies, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge they need to excel in all areas of their lives. By focusing on STEAM education and technology, we’re able to help our students become creative, innovative, and adaptable learners, ready to take on any challenge that comes their way.
